February was more cold and snow but still lots of fun activities. The kids loved their Gymnastics classes at the Y. I think it’s safe to say we do not have budding gymnasts on our hands, but they had a lot of fun jumping around!
Kellan has developed a bit of a rivalry with Mairin, as he realized that she can now move, and take toys, AND, worst of all, get lots of attention from his people. He will stand in front of her if my parents are playing with her, and start to show off in any way he can. Other times though, he’s very sweet and tries to chase her and kiss her.
Getting some on on one time with Grampy after Mairin left!
We spent a lot of time bundling up and getting out in the snow. It was really really cold this winter so each time outside was brief, but they had fun playing in the snow. the snow was usually too icy to make a good snowman but we tried. Kellan had his first sledding experience which lasted about 20 minutes.
we put them right to work helping shovel!
Little Miss Snow Angel
I hope he likes shoveling this much when he’s a teenager!
In February there are a lot of birthdays, including my own! We had a fun family night at home with pizza and cake, and then went out that weekend with friends and family for Mexican food, without children.
Frozen came into our lives in February. This is the first movie Lily has seen in a theatre and she LOVED it. Guess who else loved it? Every single other little girl on the planet. It’s all Frozen, all the time now- youtube videos, singing in the car, watching the movie, playing with the hard to find toys , and wearing the oh-so coveted Elsa dress that Jenn was able to find. We went to a fun Frozen themed birthday for her friend, who just so happens to be named Ana! (the princess from Frozen is named Ana, and now her friend Ana is a celebrity)
No matter how many toys they accumulate, a giant cardboard box still proves to be an excellent source of entertainment. This was from a Shop-Vac we bought, and the box has now transformed into a car, Thanks to Daddy who cut a dashboard, doors, and made steering wheels for it.
Mairin had her Christening, and the kids all behaved in church! Steve stayed at the house while Kellan napped, so Lily sat with Mike of course.
We had some friends over for arts and crafts playdates!
Love this one- Lily getting help from her friend Lily with their princess shoes. Too cute.
Once again helping with the snow, snow snow….
Two little monkeys jumping in the crib
We had a Valentine’s Day party with our playgroup, which was lots of fun!
Steve and I got out for a night for a farewell party for our friend who moved to Texas. As expected, it snowed and was freezing cold, but we weren’t going to miss a night out!
First time Sledding!
My Dad also had a birthday, the big 6-0! We had a fun night at Brian & Christin’s new house, playing Heads Up and laughing a lot.
More gymnastics!
The nightly routine, lots of books. Even on the craziest days, no matter how tired they are, the kids insist on stories before bed each night. It’s a routine I hope they continue for a long time, and often the only quiet time of the day with them. Thanks to Grampy, they have a large supply of books and really enjoy being read to each night.
Little Mister Potatohead
Grampy Crowder also had a birthday in Febraury! It’s a good month for birthdays! Here he is with all his grandkids!
More sledding!
Not a dull moment with these little guys! We did spend a lot of time hiding from the cold but we had a lot of fun!
